Most things with life and growth potential start from the bottom, start smaller start as a seed. When you get a dream however, it often times doesn’t come small but instead comes larger than life enabling you to see the big picture, the finished product.
“Seeing the big picture and starting big are not the same thing. You see the big picture but you always start small”
This is where some people get mixed up and readily give up: wherethe beginning of the dream does not match the picture they have in mind. After the conception of your dream, comes the process ofimplementation and this is the point of the journey where many get stuck. They get stuck in a cycle of comparison and as a result, some then earnestly (but inadequately equipped) go on to pursue their dreams with often tragic results.
The process of implementing and growing your dream may seem like the most challenging part as there may be times when you question the authenticity of that dream, but those are the times to dig deep and hold on the most because foundations laid with diligence and the right attitude always produces great results when persistent. Small beginnings may involve a lot of planning, hardwork and repetitiveness because growth takes time but take heart and continue to be persistent and watch that big picture form.
Throughout history and yet still, we read of men, women, boys, and girls who have accomplished great things and inspired so many—people who started ventures and enterprises and ministries and so on. They all have something in common. They all started small. Some started in their bedrooms, living rooms, garages, and front yards. Others had little to no capital. Yet they all still accomplished great things. It is possible to start small and grow into that big picture you see.
For some people, living/pursuing their dream is something always attributed to the future. They feel that they have to reach certain heights and/or make specific progress before they can start pursuing their dreams. This, however, could not be further from the truth as the best time to dream and pursue your dream is now. Today is the best gift you could ever get, don’t throw it away. Today is the tomorrow you hoped for yesterday and the best place to start is WHERE YOU ARE AT.
Genesis 13:14-15 GNT
After Lot had left, the LORD said to Abram, “From where you are, look carefully in all directions. I am going to give you and your descendants all the land that you see, and it will be yours forever.”
THE PLACE WHERE YOU ARE….
Now is the time to lift your eyes and assess what you have. What have you been looking at. Your past? Your mistakes? Your bank account or lack of it? The negative words you’ve heard all your life? Your failures? Your lack of qualifications? Lift your eyes above those things. Stop seeing them and start seeing a future. Start seeing the possibilities ahead of you. Abraham started from a particular position but did not fix his focus on where he was. Instead, his focus was on the instruction he received which was to look out and look up. Your dream works like a propeller. It propels you to move. It gives you energy and drive.
So, it’s time to put pen to paper: start making plans, start your preparations knowing that it’s okay to start small and grow.
Much blessings
