In my last blog, I talked about the kind of attitude to begin this new year, and today, I will be talking about setting your priorities right in order to maximise your resources for maximum effectiveness.

Let me begin by saying if winning popularity contest is on the table for you for this year, then this may not be the right blog for you. To achieve maximum effectiveness,  you will be unpopular to some, as you will need to make some choices that will take you way out of your comfort zone.

When you look ahead, what do you see ? If I asked you what mattered to you most, future or past? I am almost certain that most people would respond,  that the future does, but if I asked what you think about most future or past, the honest response might change. So the question now becomes,  how can you make  advancements when you are mostly looking backwards?

Looking ahead is the best thing you can do for yourself, and how far you go is largely tied to how much you grow and develop.

Today, if I asked you, what is the greatest thing that is going to happen to you this year ? Rather than thinking of all the many external factors, your biggest one should be what happens within YOU!

A glorious future and better tomorrow always start with you working on yourself.  In that verse of scripture, the first instruction for increase is to work on one’s own house, “ENLARGE YOUR HOUSE.”

What area of YOU needs to grow this year ?
At the beginning of last year, I decided to challenge myself and train professionally to become a life coach.  This involved finance, which I didn’t have and involved me applying myself differently,that was me enlarging my house.

This 2025, be determined not to stay in a small house, small mindset, small dream, small or no goals, be ready to enlarge yourself.

Are you looking for a promotion at work? The question is, why should they promote you? Have you got what it takes ? Do you need to work on yourself to be ready?

Are you looking for an increase in salary? Have you applied yourself enough to give the value that the company needs?

Have you got a dream business in your heart? The question is,are you prepared to research and learn and practice until you are ready for that business to kick off, grow, and thrive ?

Is it a ministry that you are called to do? Have you developed enough patience, self-control, and other attributes needed to thrive in that ministry?

Developing yourself involves sacrifice. It involves cost. You may need to reduce or cut off certain things temporarily or even permanently.  You may need money, time, and / or other resources. It is important to count your cost and prepare yourself.

If your house is not enlarged this year, then you are not able to experience the benefits.

For some reading this blog, you may have already enlarged your house, you may have picked up something new in the past and completed it or challenged yourself somehow or in someways and accomplished your challenge but there is always more. The verse of scripture above says, after enlarging your house, to BUILD AN ADDITION.

This is where I am at personally, building an addition. What addition are you going to add to what you have already built?This is not a time for settling.  No one as long as they are alive is too young or too old to make an impact. This is your time to develop YOU.
