Is the vision plain enough?

… “Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run who reads it.
Habakkuk 2: 2 NKJV.

I would like to begin by saying that if no one is coming on board with your vision, with the aim of helping to implement and spread it,  then your vision is probably not plain enough.

Every human being is made in God’s design according to Genesis 1:26 , which means that every human has a purpose on earth.( If you are unsure of this, I would recommend you spend a bit of time reading the bible, starting from the book of Genesis) Now, to carry out your purpose,  you need to have a vision.

A vision simply put is seeing ahead , where you are going . Only when you see ahead can you actually make deliberate plans on how to get there. ( Not every movement is towards progression) So if you don’t see anything, you don’t expect or plan for anything and the end result of that is that you succumb to anything and become like a yo- yo. Without vision, there is no drive, and without a drive, you go nowhere.

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. Proverbs 29:18 KJV

This let’s us know that vision is not only for leaders. Vision is for everyone,  everyone needs a vision. The head of an organisation needs vision to lead his/her team, the teacher needs vision to teach the students, the husband needs vision to lead his family,  the wife needs vision to support her husband and lead the children,  the children need vision to excel in life, the ones following need vision to follow rightly. Everyone needs a vision.

Now, having a vision is not enough if that vision can not be translated into a language the people around you can speak. This is where people get frustrated and end up frustrating the very people who have been placed in their lives to help them accomplish their goals.

According to Habakkuk chapter 2, if your vision is from God, then be rest assured He will bring people your way or He will take you to a place where your vision would be relevant but you have a responsibility to translate that vision and the process of translating includes but not limited to ; putting the vision down ( Write it down ).

When something is written down, it is not muddled up. You can read it and adjust it to what you actually see in your mind. If it’s not on paper, it’s not that important ( #notetoself ) . If it is written down,  then it is on record.  If God himself would deem it necessary to document His vision for humanity ( the bible ) to give us a chance to read and re read it over and over again until we get it, then we are without excuses when it comes to documenting our vision.

After writing it down, ensure it is simplified as much as possible as you can’t  expect to get maximum results from people if they don’t even know what is in your head. Your first step towards success is someone understanding what you see in your mind, and my question is, how plain can you make it?  Plain enough that someone else can accurately interpret your vision to others. ( remember,  your vision is not for everyone) .

If you are a parent, have you had a situation where you were absolutely sure your child understood what you were saying and in the end you realise they actually did the opposite of your expectation,  not because they were trying to be rebellious or anything like that but simply because they misunderstood you. How plain was your instruction from the vision you had about that particular thing?

The more plain your vision is, the quicker it is to understand, and the more people would want to get involved. Is it possible that you haven’t had as much success as you would desire simply because you haven’t simplified your vision enough?

Much Blessings
Kingdom

  1. Some times easy, sometimes difficult but with the help of the Holy Spirit, visions and dreams will materialize. May God give us grace to put visions into achievable phases. Thanks Kay.
